John Deere Historic Site
“John Deere, American Pioneer”
For the John Deere Historic Site in Grand Detour, Illinois, Silver Oaks produced an 11-minute video presentation that showcases the early years of John Deere, the man who founded a company that became a worldwide presence. “John Deere, American Pioneer” tells an inspiring story of innovation and perseverance through a creative edit of historical images and illustrations enhanced with special effects, along with re-enactment footage that includes GoPro footage of a working replica plow. From research and scripting, through talent search and location video shooting, to post-production, Silver Oaks’ creative team brought John Deere’s story to life.
The video is located in the Archeological Site building, which houses the exact location where this young blacksmith forged his first self-scouring plow. As visitors look over the preserved site and excavated artifacts, they listen as John Deere describes how he built a thriving manufacturing business. Silver Oaks also handled the installation process – including upgrading the equipment for an enhanced theater experience.
