Silver Oaks joined forces with exhibit designer Hands On! to create a computer-based program for GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico, in Mobile, Alabama. Designed to entertain and engage visitors as they wait in queue for a cargo ship steering simulator, the dual-monitor touchscreen interactive program tests visitors’ knowledge on how well they know the harbors and ports that have made the Gulf a hub for world trade. They are asked a series of 10 questions that are randomly selected from a pool of 50. Based on their scoring, visitors are then ranked as either a swabbie or admiral (or something in between), and can see how they scored in comparison to other players.
