“Honoring the Legacy” Interactive
For “Honoring the Legacy,” Silver Oaks had the opportunity to be a part of golf history when we were invited to join the team creating a new permanent exhibit that honors the accomplishments of African-Americans in the game. The exhibit is divided into three eras: From the Beginning, Breaking Through and Moving Forward. Each era includes a 15" touchscreen station that features profiles of prominent personalities, courses and organizations – with resulting text and photos, or videos with interview highlights. Additionally, each station features a brief trivia section, as well as an introductory Civil Rights video that helps place the golf accomplishments in context with the broader cultural and social landmarks that were occurring in the Civil Rights movement during the respective era.
“Major Moments” Interactive
“Major Moments” is an interactive program that gives visitors a larger-than-life glimpse of the four Majors’ trophies. Displayed on a 55" touchscreen, the interactive features 360-degree photography of each trophy – allowing visitors to see the unique details and engravings on each. Additionally, visitors can learn about the trophies’ histories, as well as see the venues and winners over the lifespan of each of the four Championships. On a fun note, visitors can also commemorate their visit to the Hall of Fame by personalizing an image of the World Golf Hall of Fame Inductee Crystal, which they can then share via email and on social media.
“Tales from the Collection” Interactive
Silver Oaks teamed up with the curator at the World Golf Hall of Fame to develop a series of interactive stations that showcase a collection of iconic artifacts from their Hall of Fame members. Each station features artifacts that are displayed in the adjacent cases and allows visitors to hear their favorite golfers reminisce about the moment they used, won or wore that item – bringing the artifacts to life in a very personal way. The program was developed with a templated interface so the Hall of Fame can easily update the content as they rotate the artifacts.
Election Committee Voting Application
For this Voting App, Silver Oaks developed a simple, secure, web-based voting app that allows World Golf Hall of Fame election committee members to vote on-site or remotely during the committee voting meeting when inducting nominees into its Hall of Fame. Each voter receives their own set of log-in credentials and may vote on the list compiled by the administrator. Votes are tallied in real-time. The administrator can fully facilitate the voting process – determining the number of selections the voters have, establishing the number of votes per voter and seeing how each committee member voted.
