Genesis Health System

Exhibit Design

Our interpretive design team orchestrated a tightly-integrated, multi-layered timeline wall featuring a photo montage wall wrap as the base layer, with an offset timeline panel spanning Genesis’ 150-year history. Detailing approximately 100 events, the timeline has significant artifacts interspersed throughout that speak to the Catholic and Episcopalian roots of the original founding hospitals, as well as illustrating the evolution of modern medicine. Tying the space together, the two large pillars opposite the main timeline wall are wrapped in a similarly-styled photo montage, and each features an artifact housed in a display case. From concept to installation, Silver Oaks organized, designed and managed all the details of this high-profile community project.

Genesis Timeline Wall Installation

As part of a large renovation project, Silver Oaks worked closely with the communications specialists at Genesis Health System to complete an award-winning 2-year project that showcases the history of Genesis. Starting with a basic outline, a collection of 14 artifacts, and a space including a 65-foot-long wall with a 90-degree bend and two large rectangular pillars, Silver Oaks transformed a highly-trafficked hallway into a “mini museum.”

Winning a Gold Aster Award, the timeline wall was recognized by the nation’s most elite healthcare industry competition for outstanding excellence in advertising.

Genesis Foundation & Genesis Philanthropy Interactive

Simultaneously, Silver Oaks worked with the Genesis Foundation to design a 17-foot-long wall that extends from the timeline wall and includes a touchscreen kiosk. This corresponding exhibit space had very different messaging and purpose – providing a unique challenge for our design team. However, the resulting wall mural successfully communicates the Foundation’s messaging of “Community. Compassion. Giving.” with heartwarming visuals, while also complementing the color pallet and visual treatments established with the timeline wall. The corresponding interactive program further brings the messaging to life – providing users with an opportunity to learn about the Genesis Foundation and Genesis Philanthropy and their efforts to improve the health of their community.
