Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park

Visitor Center Multimedia

Silver Oaks produced a series of four videos, including a 12-minute introduction video, that provides visitors with a general overview of the Civil War Battle of Prairie Grove that occurred in Arkansas in December of 1862. To produce a presentation that is both informative and emotional, we used actors to recreate scenes, along with historical photos and illustrations, period music and sound effects.

Bringing the battle area to life, we developed an Artillery Interactive where visitors can touch one of four cast cannon projectiles on a reading rail and then see on a 55″ monitor an indication of the intended trajectory, followed by its actual firing, trajectory path and impact. Mounted in a vintage picture frame, the program was carefully designed and animated to look like an Andy Thomas painting.
