Silver Oaks produced an interactive map experience for the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum's World War II exhibit that provides a dynamic overview of WWII - from the prewar events starting in 1931 through the Japanese surrender in 1945.
Designed to resemble a war room battle map, Silver Oaks used map animations as the structural foundation of the AV presentation. Historical photos and footage were then strategically integrated to put the featured events into context, as well as period specific music, authentic sound effects and WWII news sound bites to further enhance the overall visitor experience. Using a timeline push button interface, visitors can select which year they want to learn about, or select "Play All" to view the progression of events in their entirety.
